Jacquelin (Jackie) Lottie Kays (Johnson) 85, died March 10, 2022. She was born February 3, 1937 in Camby, Indiana to Ebenezer and Agnes Johnson. Jackie graduated from Plainfield High School in 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Kays; sisters, Dottie Byrnes and Jerry Lou Jones; and brothers, Jim Johnson and Vern Johnson. Survivors include her only son, Scott E Settle married to Suezanna Settle; sister, Susie Cravens of Indianapolis; 2 grandchildren, Joshua Scott Settle and Caleb
Daniel Settle; and 2 great grandchildren, Elle Rei Settle and Raiden Scott Settle.
For the past three years, Jackie lived at the Meadow Lakes Nursing Home where she was known as the “Social Butterfly.” She loved walking around and saying “hi” to everyone and getting into everyone’s business. She was full of sass and a joy for life. With an easy smile and outgoing personality, she made you feel like a life time friend. She was very generous and constantly sharing her treats with the other residents. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel at 2433 E. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Services will begin at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Operation Underground Railroad which is an organization that rescues and rehabilitates children from sex trafficking.
