On February 7, 1938, HOWARD E CHAPMAN was born to the proud parents of Willis H. and Mary J. Chapman in Indianapolis, IN. He attended Indianapolis Public School #44 and then Tech High. Later in 1955, Howard enlisted into the United States Army with 101st Airborne. Howard met and married Nancy Ellen Morgan in 1970, along with her 3 yr. old son, Raymond. To this union, three children were born. When he met Forestjean Johnson in 2001, along with her son Nathaniel at age 6, they united in marriage in 2003.
After his military years, he worked for the Railroads for a good amount of time. He later worked on HVACs and did Office Cleaning till he had his own business: “Chapman’s Commercial Maintenance.” In the 60’s he enjoyed duck hunting with his friends for some time, until he discovered the love of deer hunting. He enjoyed playing pool under the APA of Amateur Pool Players of which he’d won many trophy’s, badges, and jackets pertaining to the game.
Howard knew Christ as his personal savior, by studying and teaching the bible to others. He was a member of Bethel AME of Noblesville, Indiana until his health would no longer allow him to attend. He loved to spend quality time with family and friends. Once in a blue moon, he’d try his luck by having fun at the casino.
On December 14, 2020, Howard E Chapman was called to rest from his labor. Preceding him in death are: one daughter: Dorinda Chapman; one brother Jerry Chapman.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Forestjean Chapman of Pendleton, Indiana; his daughters: Lydia Chapman and Aimee Fitzgerald, both of Fortville, Indiana; His sons: Nathaniel Chapman of Pendleton, Indiana; Corey Chapman of Carmel, Indiana; Raymond Morgan of Atlanta, Georgia; and his son “Howie” Chapman III of Indianapolis, Indiana. His sister Vera Bodem of Indianapolis, Indiana and his brother Jimmy Chapman of Columbus, Indiana. His grandchildren: Cassidy Fendel of Carmel, Indiana; Megan Chapman of Bloomington, Indiana; Justin and Thomas Hibbard and Sierra Bruce; all of Fortville Indiana. Brittany, Abbigail, and Carlie Sanders; Cheyenne Packard all of Indianapolis, Indiana; and Victoria Fitzgerald of Fortville, Indiana; along with a host of great-grandchildren; also his Bethel AME Church Family who all loved Howard Chapman very much.
