Hershel Roy Guffey

Hershel Roy Guffey 87, of Indianapolis, IN, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday March 8, 2020. Hershel was born in Alpha, KY on June 26, 1932. He was the son of the late Lewis Taylor Guffey and Birthie (Lowe) Guffey. Hershel is survived by his loving Wife of 63 years Ruby (Bass) Guffey, their two daughters Julia (Guffey) Smith, and Sharry (Guffey) Blankenship, Brothers Junior, and Donald Guffey, Sisters Lucy and Martha Guffey, 5 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and many beloved family, and friends.
Hershel and Ruby moved to Indianapolis, where he worked at Master-Fit as a Machine Operator for 60 years. Hershel was a lot of things, those who knew him would describe him as a kind soul, a caring and loving person. He was a loving Husband, a devoted Father, and the Grandest Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Hershel was a friend to many and a smile on a gloomy day. He attended Southeastern Church of Christ and enjoyed sharing his love of Christ with anyone that would listen. He will be deeply missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held for all who would like to join us in celebrating Hershel’s amazing life. The celebration will be on Monday March 16, 2020 from 6-8 pm at Southeastern Church of Christ located at 6500 Southeastern Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46203.
