Herscheila “Hershey’’ Dozier-Donovan
On May 3, 2021, Herscheila “Hershey’’ Dozier-Donovan passed away at the age of 63 while vacationing in Florida with her loving husband.
Herscheila Elizabeth Dozier was born to Herschell and Mary Dozier in Franklin, Indiana on March 1st, 1958. Her family moved to Plainfield, Indiana in 1965 where she attended and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1976. Following her graduation, she worked as an Account Manager for Wendy’s International Office. After starting her career at Wendy’s, she accepted a marketing job with Texas State Bank & moved to Richardson, Texas. It was there that she gave birth to her only daughter, Shayla Marie Dozier (now Shayla Marie Dagger). She then moved back to Indiana to raise her daughter, and to be amongst family. Shayla moved to Pennsylvania shortly following her high school graduation, and Hershey decided to continue her education. In 2008, she completed a course in Massage Therapy and became a licensed massage therapist.
In the fall of 2012, Hershey married P.J. Donovan, and together, they enjoyed traveling, spending time with Hershey’s large extended family, and collecting items & knick-knacks from their travels. As P.J. likes to joke, she especially “loved the things that she could collect from Kohls, or Macy’s Department Store.”
The only thing that had more sparkle than Hershey’s wardrobe was her personality. She always seemed to make friends everywhere she went. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Hershey could immediately tell how special she was. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, friends, & family.
Herscheila was preceded in death by her parents Herschell and Mary Dozier, and siblings Bob Eastridge, Sharon (Eastridge) Truelove, Richard Eastridge, & Ronald Eastridge. She is survived by her husband, P.J. Donovan, her daughter, Shayla Marie (Dozier) Dagger, and siblings Ralph Eastridge, Wilma (Eastridge) Tabor, & Carolyn (Eastridge) Givens.
A ceremony will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, May 15th from 11am-2pm EST.
