Harry H. Gemuend Jr.

Harry H. Gemuend Jr., 94, went to be with our Lord on December 9, 2023. He was born August 6, 1929 in Ionia, Michigan, the son of Harry H. Gemuend Sr. and Laura Catherine Gemuend (nee Koster). He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Gemuend (nee Nash), daughter Libby (Randy) Strand, son Harry H. Gemuend III; granddaughters, Elyse (Nick) Oberhouse and Devon Strand; and grandson Jayce Gemuend, as well as countless others who considered him a dear friend.

Mr. Gemuend graduated Ionia High School in 1947; served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1953, earning a General Leadership Commendation; attended Wayne State University and Michigan State University; graduated Detroit College of Law (Doctor of Jurisprudence) 1962; served as Michigan Special Assistant Attorney General; Vice President of Delta Theta Phi National Legal Fraternity; member of Association of Defense Trial Counsel; member of American Judicature Society; appointed Circuit Court Mediator, Wayne County Mediation Tribunal; Senior Partner, private firms, as Defense Trial Attorney for 25 years; Senior Litigation Specialist for National Insurance Conglomerate; member of National Board of Realtors; first Emeritus Member of SERTOMA (Service to Mankind) Broad Ripple Chapter, serving as its President in 2012 and Chairman of the Board in 2013.

Visitation for Mr. Gemuend will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. the following morning, Monday, January 22, 2024 at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN. Interment will be held at a later date in the family plot in Ionia, MI.
