Harriet Ellen Peden

Harriet Ellen Peden, 77, of Indianapolis, formerly of Winchester Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Harriet was born in Indianapolis on December 14, 1943, the daughter of Donald Alexander and Elle Belle (Miller) Campbell.

For most of her career, she worked in the optometric field as an office manager supporting her husband Dr. Steven Peden’s practice and then in eyeglass sales.

She was a devoted wife and mother with a love of music, active in her community, proud of her accomplishments, and attended Pleasant Hill Church in Union City, Indiana.  When her husband, Dr. Steve Peden passed in 2005, Harriet chose marry Charles Ferguson and live a more private and secluded life.

Harriet is survived by her two sons:  Robert (Jen) Peden of Indianapolis, IN; Bill (Beth) Peden of Olympia, WA; six grandchildren: Mitchell, Grace, Molly, Lucy, Alice, and George Peden.

Following her wishes, Harriet will be cremated and there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Paradigm Hospice, 8904 Bash St. Suite B, Indianapolis, IN  46256.
