Harold G. Shelton

June 2, 1953 — July 30, 2024

Indianapolis

Harold Glenn Shelton was born to Elvia (Harris) and Woodrow Shelton on June 2, 1953, in Harlan Kentucky. Whether you knew him as Harold, Glenn, Pastor, Pap, or the Noogie Man, to know him was to love him.

Harold married the love of his life, Carolyn, at the tender age of fifteen. Together, they raised two boys, Harold Lynn, and Bryant Lee. Their love defied the odds and endured. Harold and Carolyn were on their way to fifty-two years of marriage when she passed in 2020. Their love for one another was true and deep. It was a love that will live on and inspire their decedents for generations to come as their story is sure to be told time and again, a love for the ages.

A wild one in his hay day, Harold found the love of the Lord and retired as a Pastor from Trinity Full Gospel Church. He was passionate in his ministry and dedicated to his flock.

Harold will be remembered most for his kindness and humor as well as his love for his family. He took pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Together, Harold and Carolyn were certain to buy their grandkids their first bike and a new pair of shoes before the first day of school. Harold would spit a mean "Grandpa Rap" and see the kids off with a noogie and a playful threat of a knuckle sandwich.

Harold was proceeded in death by his wife Carolyn; mother Elvia; father Woodrow; bonus father Lynn; sisters Elsie Mae, Violet (Rowena), Dorothy, and Tressie; brother James (Woody); his son Harold Lynn, and his great granddaughter Makenlee. He is survived by his son Bryant Lee (Sanica); granddaughters Brandi (Keith), Kay-Lee (Zach), and great grandchildren Matthew, Miley, and Ariyah.

"So, with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you gain, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." John 16:22
