Harold L. Butler, 85, of Indianapolis passed away April 22, 2024. He was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska on March 29, 1939.
Harold enlisted in the US Army in 1961, during the Vietnam War. He received the National Service Medal, as he was presented as a perfect rifle shooter. Harold later returned to Omaha, NE and then moved to Flint, MI where he was employed through General Motors Truck and Bus for 41 years. After retirement, Harold resided in Indianapolis, IN. Harold enjoyed listening to smooth jazz music, traveling, and sitting on the back deck at home enjoying the nice summer days.
Harold leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved daughter, Michelle (Djamal) Marcos; son, Michael (Lover) Richardson; three grandsons, Mark Mahone Jr., Dwight (Shubee) Turner Jr., and Mykel Richardson of Peoria, IL; sister, Joann Brown, brother, Joseph Glasco Sr.; special niece, Bridgette Dockery; nephew, Vernell Frazier and a host of many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, King E. Butler and mother, Georgia Mae Busey Butler (Flora Mae Glasco).
Services will be held on April 30th 2024 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250 at 4 pm with a military honors service, with a memorial visitation starting at 3 pm until the service time.
