Gregory “Greg” Fletcher
63, of Indianapolis, departed this earthly life and entered the presence of Jesus on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Greg was born September 3, 1958, to proud parents John G. Fletcher and Mary Lillian Hall Fletcher in Indianapolis, Indiana. He and his twin brother, Jeffrey, were the seventh of eleven children.
Greg went to several elementary schools in Indianapolis; Holy Angels Catholic School, St. John of Arc Catholic School, IPS School #66, and Northwest High School.
Greg loved sports, as a preteen he was a member of the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church Recreation Program. He played basketball and was the pitcher on the softball team. In the summer, he and is brother Jeff would travel to Scarboro, Canada (Toronto), to play in the peace games with the team. His love of sports extended to his favorite NFL team in Washington (Formerly Washington Red Skins) and MLB team St. Louis Cardinals.
Greg worked in several restaurants in the Indianapolis area, his last employment was the Aristocrat Pub & Restaurant for over 15 years. He loved music, especially 60’s music, his favorite artists were Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac. Greg also loved to play the lottery and was very lucky in the Daily Four.
Greg was an avid listener and talker. He always had a kind word to give. His greatest joy was his Family, siblings, nieces, nephews, God daughters, aunts, cousins, and in laws. He loved his friends, neighbors, coworkers, and acquaintances. He welcomed All. He was truly adored, loved, and cherished. He will be deeply missed.
Those preceding Greg in death; his loving parents, John and Mary Lillian; sisters, Shirley Ann Fletcher, Johnnie Mae Fletcher King, Jennifer Joan Johnson; brothers, James “Butter” Fletcher, and Larry “Nee Nee” Fletcher.
Greg leaves to mourn his memory; sons, Rodney and Reuben Fletcher; sisters, Detra Fletcher, Barbara & brother in love, James Washington; brothers, Jeff, Dennis, and Keith Fletcher; God daughters, Elisha and Brooklyn; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, many friends and neighbors he cherished.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 12:00 P.M. Visitation is from 11:00 am until the time of service.
