Glenna M. Podlaha, age 93, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Hinsdale, IL to Fred and Henrietta Bullerman and was the oldest of two children.
After graduating from high school, Glenna triple majored in French, Spanish and Geology earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Central College in Illinois. It was at the University of Iowa while studying for her Master’s degree in romance languages where she met the love of her life. Otto proposed on Christmas Eve and the two were married the following June 1950. Glenna raised four children, spent several years on a bowling league, and loved to read (often one or two books per week). Glenna was also a writer. She wrote letters to everyone and in her later years sent emails to her children regularly and viewed Facebook to check on them.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 57 years Otto C. Podlaha and sister Phyllis Lindsay. She is survived by her children Dana Meuret, Mark Podlaha (Vanessa), Glenn Podlaha and Gail Sandlin (Tony). She was a dear grandmother to Mitchell, Nicholas, and Will, and step-grandchildren Taylon and Bailey.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Glenna’s life at a viewing Saturday, December 19, 2020 anytime from 1:00pm - 3:00pm with a funeral service at 3:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250. Cremation will follow.
