Glenna J. Critchfield

February 25, 1932 — January 27, 2021

Glenna Jeanne “Jeannie” Arnold Critchfield passed away peacefully on the morning of January 27, 2021 following a short illness.

Jeannie is survived by her brother Dale Arnold of New Haven, IN, her four children Deborah Critchfield Maxey of Monrovia, IN, DeAnne Critchfield Owens of Cincinnati, OH, David C. Critchfield of Avon, IN, Daniel A. Critchfield of Indianapolis, IN, nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Bryant E. Arnold, her mother Leota Mae Koehlinger Arnold, her brother Roland Arnold and sister Phyllis Arnold Barnhart.

Jeannie was born on February 25, 1932 in New Haven, IN where she later graduated from New Haven High School. She had a great love for music and played French horn in her high school band. After high school, she attended St. Louis Institute of Music for piano and organ, and continued as a church organist and choir director for many years.

Jeannie held multiple clerical and administrative jobs which included positions with General
Electric, Ball State University and Indiana University School of Nursing. In her later years she
shared her special love for sports with her nephews and grandchildren. She loved her family
intently and mentioned often how proud she was of her children and grandchildren.

Plans for a family memorial gathering are pending. Contributions to Wheeler Mission (wheelermission.org) or St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org) may be made in Jeannie’s memory.
