Gilbert Robert Trimble was born in Gary, IN to the late Reidus and Annie O. Trimble on April 19, 1961. He confessed Christ at an early age. He graduated from Horace Mann High School and from there served our country in the Marine Corps. He worked at Whole Sales Doughnuts for 20 years and left when he fell ill.
On June 20, 2022 at the age of 61, Gilbert passed away peacefully at home with his nephew Reimos, niece Stefanie and loved ones by his side. Uncle G. was full of life! He was funny (ah duh) and had plenty of jokes. He loved to garden, sing in the mirror, was big on family, was a family man and loved & knew how to treat the ladies. He had a heart of gold, and that smile was life. He had the best smile. He loved to cook, even though he mixed it all together. To know him was to love him. Uncle G. was a wonderful man.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Reidus & Annie O. Trimble, his sisters, the only woman we’ve ever heard him call “mom,” Lucille (Terry) Todd, Cheryl D. Trimble, Janice Lareau, his brothers, Anthony, Reidus, Samuel, Eugene Trimble & Jerry Welborn.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories his one and only son, Chaz Jamal Trimble of Indianapolis, Sisters Virginia (Lewis) Whitehead of Detroit, MI, nephews, Reimos (Stefanie) Trimble of Indianapolis, IN, Donta Govan of Arizona, Shawn (Betania) Washington of Indianapolis, IN, Samuel Trimble of Michigan, Marcus Trimble of SC, Reidus (Charlotte) Trimble of Arizona, Maceo (Sonya) Coleman of Detroit, MI, Semaj (Shatara) Coleman of Illinois, nieces, Sonja, Roberta, Dorothy "Peaches," Toni, & Carolyn Trimble of Indianapolis, IN, Robin Coleman and Terri (Kevin) Ellis, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great Nephews, family and friends.
