Gary D Evans, age 60, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 24, 1961.
Gary received his Masters degree in Political Science from Purdue University. Some of his hobbies included being a lifelong Cubs baseball and IU basketball fan. He loved watching his children play sports throughout their school years. Gary loved to go to his church and help with all community outreach events, including securing grant money for Gethsemane to do so. He enjoyed watching movies and having dinners with his kids, whether they were planned or surprised.
He is survived by his children; Sara Akles (Jon), Ryan Evans (Michaela), and Kari Evans. Grandchildren; Tucker and Melanie Akles. Siblings; Dick Evans, Charles Evans, and David Evans. He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Richard Evans Jr. and Artis Marcella Evans (Harnischfeger). Sister; Virgina Graham.
The service will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. 6810 E. 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46219 on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5:30pm-6:00pm. Visitation will take place at 4:30pm till time of service.
