Frederick Sutton, Sr., was born in Indianapolis, IN on October 31, 1953. He was one of 13 children, born to the late Dorothy Nell Snipes Sutton and Otto Sutton. Early in life Frederick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and enjoyed attending church services throughout his life.
Frederick was baptized and married in the Church of God in Christ. He was formerly united in marriage to Ellen L. Banks; through this union came six loving children. He was employed at Citizen’s Gas and LI Pest Control for many years.
Frederick was also known as “Freddy”. He had a giving heart and charitable spirit. He was known to have a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh and feel lighthearted. Freddy always looked forward to spending time with family/friends. He also loved singing and you couldn’t tell him NOTHING about his fried chicken, lol.
Frederick, Sr. departed this life at the age of 70 years old. He is preceded in death by both his parents, Otto and Dorothy; stepdaughter, Cassandra “Sandy”; brothers, Robert, Oliver, William “Sunny”, Levi, Wade, and Kenneth.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his sons, Izell Sutton (Demita) and Fredrick Sutton II “Lil Freddy” (Tammi); daughters, Benita Cooper “NeNe”, Felisha Miller, and Sereda Sutton “Reda”; siblings, Janet Hubbard, Patricia King, Beulah Bibbs “Boo”, Ethel Sutton (Kenny), Anthony Sutton "Tony" (Noah), and Otto Sutton “Jr”; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Funeral services for Freddy will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:00pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46250. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a visitation from 12:00pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
Indiana Funeral Care is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
