Frederick S. Clevenger, 79, passed away peacefully at Copper Trace in Carmel, IN on Sunday, October 27, 2019. Born January 6, 1940, in Kokomo, IN, he was the son of the late Thyra Flowerdew (Ludwig) and Gilbert Ross Clevenger.
After graduating from Kokomo High School, Fred studied mechanical engineering at Tri-State University and served in the United States Army Reserves. Fred had a lifelong passion for learning and studying the word of God. He was an avid reader, talented artist and world traveler. He loved jazz, bluegrass, and Southern Gospel music.
Fred is survived by one son, Frederick Brent (Lynn) Clevenger, Kokomo; two daughters, Beth Suzanne (Robin) Richards, Noblesville, IN and Lorinda Rae Clevenger, Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild (due January 2020); his partner, Shirley Jeffers, Cicero; three sisters, Karen Cornell, Mission, Texas, and Darlene (Robert) Galloway and Arlene Clements, both of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Gary Carnell and Dr. Robert Clements.
A memorial will be held at 1pm on November 9, 2019 at Kokomo First Church of the Nazarene, located at 2734 S Washington St, Kokomo 46902
