Franklin E. Gageby, aged 95, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on August 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his father Wood H. Gageby and mother Ruth Ellen Gageby (Adams) and his loving wife of 52 years, Norma Jean Gageby (Caylor).
Born in Terre Haute, IN in 1924, he graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and attended Indiana State University. He was a train enthusiast and a lover of big band and swing music, as well as a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Indiana Pacers. Over the course of his career, Frank worked for Stokely Van Camp, Gulf Oil Corporation, Coastal Tank Lines and Midwest Oil Transit. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Frank was also an active member of the Lions Club and Elks Club.
Mostly, Frank loved and was devoted to his wife and family. He is survived by his son Franklin Wood Gageby and daughter-in-law Laura Gageby (Cooper); grandsons Daniel F. Gageby and Jeffrey K. Gageby.
A private family burial will be held. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Frank's life will occur in the spring/summer of 2021, when it's safe to travel and gather together. Date and time TBD.
