Francisco Eleazar Campos Gamiño, 53, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away on December 10, 2023. He was born on February 14, 1970, in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico to Francisco Campos and Racquel Gamiño Sierra and came to the United States in 1994. He married his wife and best friend, Kristen (Endicott) Campos, on July 29, 2010, and together they spent over 13 years by each other’s sides, raising their family and watching their children grow. Francisco was a hard worker, who was never afraid to reach for his goals in life. He was a DJ/radio personality on 107.1 Radio Latina and received much notoriety in the nineties. He started working as a cook at Chili’s, and later was hired at Mama Carolla’s restaurant, where he worked for over 17 years as a chef. Francisco enjoyed his time there, also assisting with their landscaping and maintenance needs, and considered the owners, Howard and Carole Leuer to be family. Francisco had a long-time dream of owning his own restaurant, where he could take care of his family, cook, and serve good food to the community. In April 2015, Francisco and his wife, Kristen opened their restaurant, Indy Tacos. Together they worked seven days a week building their business while creating many wonderful memories with family and friends while serving the community for over eight years.
Along with cooking, Francisco had many joys in life. He was an artist who will be remembered for his love of woodworking, preparing meals for others, and for his green thumb which brought much life to his family’s yard. However, his greatest joy in life was the time he spent being a father and with his family, who will all miss him very much.
Francisco is survived by his wife, Kristen Campos; children, Clarisa Estefania Campos, Luis Francisco Campos, Darius Michael Stillman, Jonas Matthew (Madalyn Rose Summers) Stillman, and Thomas David Campos; two sisters, Racquel Vera (Jose Luis Castro Ortiz) Gamiño Castro, and Martha Hilda Vera Gamiño; niece, Jackelin Andrea Ramirez Vera; nephew, Christian F. Gamiño; as well as one grandson on the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Raquel Gamiño Sierra; and one brother, Fernando Vera Gamiño.
