Farouk H. Rezkalla

Farouk Hilmy Rezkalla, 91, passed away on June 15th, 2022. He was born on September 1st, 1930 in Mit Ghamr, Egypt.

Farouk is survived by his four children: Nader Rezkalla, Rafik Rezkalla, Nabil Rezkalla, and Magda Fawzy and their respected spouses Claire Rezkalla, Emilyn Rezkalla, and Sherif Fawzy. Farouk is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Antonious, Christopher, Steven, Joseph, Immanuel, Isaac, Michael, and Monica and his great granddaughter Josephine and great grandson Nicholas.

Farouk is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Bosayna Rezkalla, parents Zakia Metry Messiah and Rezkalla Soliman, and sibilings Safwat Helmy, Aida Rezk, Elaine Rezkalla, Shafik Rezkalla and Reyad Rezkalla.

Farouk worked 30 years in the Department of Education in Egypt serving as the Superintendent of Physical Education in Alexandria, Egypt and accomplishing great success. Prior to coming to America in 1982, Farouk also worked as a national soccer referee, international basketball referee and head of the Basketball Association in Alexandria. When he came to America, he became in charge of recreation at the Pendleton Correctional Facility until he retired in 2011 at age 80. Farouk also served as a Deacon for many years at his church St. Mary and St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Carmel, IN.

Visitation will be held on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19th, from 5pm - 8pm at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road. Funeral Services will be on Monday, June 20th at 12pm at St. Mary and St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 12174 Shelborne Road, Carmel, Indiana with graveside services immediately following at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road
