Chong Koon Fall (Koon Fall Kenny Chong), beloved son, husband, father (Dad), and grandfather, (Gong Gong), passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the age of 89 in Indianapolis, IN.
Fall was born on February 15, 1936, in Canton, China to the late Chuck Fon Chong and the late Chung Tai Ng Chong. His father owned a laundry business in Indianapolis, IN. At the age of 15, Fall joined his father in Indianapolis in 1951 along with his Uncle, Carl (Yeuck Hon Chong) and Brother, Koon Hep John Chong. Fall graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in the class of 1957. His good memory and diligence earned him awards in Math and Art.
Fall served in the United States Army receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1964. He was a cook in the military, which lead him to a career in the restaurant business. He co-owned the Lantern Room and the China Royal Restaurants. In his later years, he worked as a chef for Golden Phoenix, Hong Kong Inn, and House of Cheung Restaurants. Fall was a proud, hardworking, and self-reliant man who preferred to do everything himself. On his last Earthly day, he was happy singing favorite songs to his dear wife, Mei.
Fall will be remembered by his wife of 62 years, Kin Mei Chong; his daughter, Marian McKee and son-in-law, Chris McKee; granddaughter, Marisa McKee; son, Thomas Chong; brother, John Chong; niece, Polin Tang and a large extended family. Fall was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Chew Fon Charlie Jung, nephew, Foo Shung Frankie Jung, and nephew, John Don Chong.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Chong Koon Fall will be on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood, 2433 E. Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46143 with viewing from 10:30 am to service time at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, 700 E 38th St., Indianapolis at 2:15 pm.
