Ethel Fauris, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 10, 2024, in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born on December 19, 1941, to Louise and William Nixon. Ethel was known for her vibrant personality and unwavering sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest days.
Ethel had a passion for singing, even though her rendition of "Happy Birthday" and "You are my Sunshine" might not have been pitch-perfect. Her loved ones will always remember the joy she brought with her enthusiastic performances. She enjoyed road trips and spending time at casinos and dinners with friends. A special bond existed between Ethel and her grandchildren during their adventures on the open road.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers, Charlie and Harry Nixon, and her aunt Alice Burton. She is now reunited with them in peace. Ethel leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter cherished by her surviving family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Fauris and Fawn Runner; her granddaughters Mollie Fauris and Brittany Venne, her grandsons, Joey Fauris (the golden child), and Scott Runner; great-grandchildren Kami Fauris, Carter Venne, and Michael Venne; as well as her loyal companion of 18 years, Sassy the cat.
Ethel will be deeply missed by her best friend and partner in crime, Teri Thorpe, along with Cathy Nixon (sister-in-law), Ruth Black (sister), Nancy Vest (sister), several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
The viewing will be held on April 19th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at IFC Greenwood in Greenwood, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM as we gather to celebrate the life of Ethel Fauris.
May she rest in peace knowing that she brought warmth and laughter to all those around her. Ethel's memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
