Our family regretfully announces the unexpected passing of Essence Aalayah Strange. Born on Dec. 3, 2007. Essence was the oldest of the siblings in her home.
Her friends described Essence as loving, outgoing and hilarious. Honestly, words couldn’t even begin to describe our baby girl. She was loved by too many friends to name one by one. Essence’s life may have been cut short, but the impression she left on our lives will never be forgotten. Preceding in Essence’s death is her grandmother Marquerite Bailey, grandfathers Michael Cox, Robert Jones and uncle Michael Stampford. Essence will live on in the memories of her mother Ebony Chowning (step father Kenneth Chowning), father William H. Strange, her siblings Eli Chowning (brother), Kaycee Chowning (sister), Amya Strange (sister), William C. Strange (brother), DeVaughn Smith (brother), Makenzie Chowning (step-sister), Kenneth Chowning Jr. (step-brother), her grandmother Nancy Strange, as well as a host of aunts and uncles, some of which grew up with her almost as siblings. She also has a ton of cousins and will be remembered forever and missed by everyone more than words could ever describe.
To my Daughter
Never forget that I love you
If I could give you one thing in life
I would give you the ability to see
Yourself through my eyes
Only then will you realize
How special you are to me
My little girl yesterday
My friend today
My daughter forever
Love you always
~Daddy~
