Ernest L. Johnson Sr.

Ernest Leroy Johnson, Sr., 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, August 31, 2020.
He was born on Sunday, July 1, 1956 to the late Otis Johnson and Jessie (Knapp) Hatcher in Columbus, Ohio.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, Otis Johnson, and Jessie Hatcher; brother, Otis Johnson; sister, Ruth Gaines.
He is survived by his wife, Kathie Johnson; children, Ernie (Tammy) Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mandy Johnson, Jackie Scott, Ashley Johnson, Chelsey Johnson; brother, John Johnson; sister, Sherry Reed; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
He was a handy man and worked many years in water and sewer. He also worked for Jim’s Tree Service. He loved to hang out with his family and friends in “the old neighborhood”. He enjoyed telling jokes and making anyone around him laugh. He was always such a happy man and an old soul who will be truly be missed by many.
