Eric Plant

With heavy hearts and loving memories, our beloved brother, uncle, friend and son Eric Plant went home to live in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 25, 2020. Due to COVID-19, his funeral will be a closed event at Indiana Funeral Care in Indianapolis, Indiana. Eric will be interred at New Crown Cemetery at 10:00am on January 6, 2021.

Eric Plant was born on February 12, 1955 to his parents Joseph Plant and Pearline (Watkins) Plant in Greenville, Mississippi. We celebrate Eric’s life, he attended Saint Rita’s Catholic School kindergarten, Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School, Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Grade School, Cathedral High School, Arlington High School and Indiana University Purdue University (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Eric had a successful career as a licensed electrician, house painter/technician and home advisor with service to the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area. In his spare time, he enjoyed providing light entertainment as a musician.

His family, friends and all who knew him, are devastated by his passing and paid this tribute to him. Eric was a free and kind spirit who shared whatever he had with anyone who needed it. Eric grasp life with open arms and knew no boundaries in helping and sharing with others. He opened his heart and home to many adults and children where needed. His positive attitude helped motivate all of us and we were never in doubt as to how much he valued helping shaping and leading our nation’s most valued assets, our children. We will miss him so much.

Eric was preceded in death by both his parents Joseph Plant and Pearline (Watkins) Plant; sister Leatrice Rene Plant, aunts and uncles; Elizabeth Plant Knight, Charlestine Plant, Toney Plant, Mark Plant and grandfather Charley Plant Jr and great grandfather Charley Plant Sr, and great, great grandparents Tierre Plant and Sara (Maure) Plant.

Eric leaves to cherish his loving memory his brother Gregory D. Plant, aunt Connie (Plant) Johnson, great aunt Frankye (Buckner) Honeywood, great uncle Bill Buckner; nephew Willie Demetrius Plant, niece Marqushia Russell, great nieces and nephews; LaChaee Plant, Demetrius Plant, Marquah Jackson, John Jackson, Amarianna Russell and Myanah Russell; 1st cousins: Charles Edward Plant, Alma (Plant) Mellion, Virginia (Plant) Turner; Helen (Plant) Chapman, Felicia (Plant) Carlin, Vera (Plant) Brooks; Pierre Plant Jr, Jerome Plant, Tony Plant, Rodger Plant, Eric D.
