Emmett Charles Hoene, 75, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away Friday, September 10, 2021.
He was born on Sunday, February 3, 1946 to the late Joseph Arnold and Mary Freida (Patton) Hoene in Bloomington, Indiana.
Emmett was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother, and grandparent. If you knew Emmett, you were considered his friend and guaranteed to have fun and adventure.
He loved our lord and savior Jesus Christ and was baptized at a young age. Due to recent health concerns, he often attended online services from home with Clear Creek Christian Church.
He was a brilliant self-taught engineer, a master mechanic, and jack of all trades. He could construct just about anything needed or thought up. He was constantly building or tinkering with something, mainly automobiles. He spent numerous hours with his grandkids teaching them his skills.
When he was younger, he worked for General Electric, then he later worked a majority of his working career with the local stone quarries - Victor Olitic, Bybee, and Woolery where he eventually retired from. Because he couldn’t sit still being retired, he then went on to work for several of the local trucking companies, Rick Ball Excavation, Young Trucking, and A+ Trucking. He worked from the sun up to sundown doing many home projects with his wife Debbie. He was always ready to lend a hand to anybody who needed anything.
Emmett is survived by his wife Debra Lynn (Ramon) Hoene; children, Tracy Beth (Hoene) Rothrock and her husband Mark, Timothy Ray Hayes Jr. and his wife Angie; siblings, Shirley (May) Long and her husband Doug, Frances Kay Prince and her husband Leroy, Rodger Hoene and his wife Margret, Joyce Keuzter and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Michael Rothrock, Chantel Faultless, Tyler Hayes, Nicholas Hayes and his partner Samantha, Bradley Hayes, Isaiah Hayes,; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Rothrock, Eliza Rothrock Leighana Faultless, Ezra Hayes, Zachariah Rothrock, Noella Faultless, Everett Hayes, and Lucas Hayes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Hoene; son, Bradley Allen Hoene; brothers, Joseph Lee Hoene, James (Jimmy) Hoene; sister, Effie Coleen Hoene; brother in law’s, Gayllis May, and Leroy Prince.
We know that he resides in heaven today because of his relationship with God. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
