Edward Lowell "Ed" Norman Sr., age 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2020 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was born to the late Hubert and Lulu Kathryn (Burks) Norman on June 9, 1937 in Yountsville, Indiana.
Ed was the proud owner of Norman Installation Services. He installed floor coverings and Ed's motto was "You name it, we lay it!". Ed enjoyed fishing, gambling, and playing computer games. He was united in marriage on September 28, 1974 to Janice Phelps at Ravenswood Christian Church.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice Norman; his children, Freda Fisher, Jacob Hale, Lauretta Archer, and Edward Norman Jr.; his brothers, Ronnie Dale Norman and Harry Norman; his grandchildren, Ellen Cann, John Hale, Dustin Hale, Lauren Archer, and Tomas Archer; his great grandchildren, Ryan Hale and Abel Archer; his step-grandchildren, Kim Rogers, Anessa Gottfried, and Billie Meyer; and 11 step great grandchildren and 5 step great-great grandchildren. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son Robert Hale, brothers Stevie Norman and Richard Norman, and his sister Ethel.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Woodside Community Church, 1811 South Morgantown Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Mark Petty officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances, direct memorial contributions to Woodside Community Church.
