Edward Alfonso Figueroa, aged 69, passed away in his home in Franklin Indiana on Sunday, August 2nd, 2020 at 1:12 p.m. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Juan Figueroa and Josephine Vasquez Figueroa.
He retired as an E6 ranked Technical Sergeant from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service to his country.
Following his retirement, he married his wife Jena on February 28th, 1998. His passion was for Christ, and together with his wife, they served the community through numerous self-sponsored homeless outreach programs across Johnson and Marion county, helping hundreds of people over the course of 20 years.
He finally retired entirely in 2017 to enjoy his golden years with family. He loved to play Chess, drink coffee in his garage and talk about Jesus.
He is survived by wife Jena DeWitt Figueroa, three step children; Evan, Joseph, and Cassandra Eshelman, one brother; Alfred Figueroa and his wife Susan, one sister; Tina McKee, three nephews; Michael New, Richard and Ronald McKee and wife Sarah, one niece Jennifer Adams and husband Thomas Adams, two great nieces Vanessa Maisonave and Hannah New, and four great nephews; Adonis and Nyran Adams, and Tully and Aksel McKee.
Due to COVID-19, viewing, internment and all graveside services will be private and reserved for close family only.
A socially-distanced public memorial service will be held outdoors at his step-daughter’s home on Friday, August 14th 2020 beginning at 4 p.m.
