Edna Miller

Edna Jane Miller, a beloved sister, aunt, and cherished member of the community, passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 80. Her warm spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edna was born on September 12, 1943, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to the late parents Edward and Betty Hines. She grew up in a loving household filled with laughter and shared many cherished memories with her siblings. Edna attended Manuel High School and graduated with the Class of 1961.

Throughout her life, Edna found fulfillment in both her professional and personal endeavors. After completing her education, she embarked on a dedicated career as a payroll operator in the government sector. Her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to her work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Outside of her career, Edna cherished moments spent with her family. Whether it was shopping excursions, attending concerts, or simply enjoying each other's company, Edna's love for her family was unwavering. She especially delighted in gatherings by the pool, where she would regale her loved ones with stories and laughter.

Edna's memory will forever be treasured by her surviving family members, including her sisters, Janet (Forrest) Rowland, Rosemary (Robert) Cummins, and Nancy (Donald) Golay. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Edna is preceded in death by her father, Edward Hines; mother, Betty Reed; step-father, John Reed; and brother, John P. Reed II.

The celebration of Edna's life will take place on December 23, 2023, at the Greenwood Chapel of Indiana Funeral Care. A public viewing will be held at 10:00 am, allowing friends and loved ones to pay their final respects. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm, where heartfelt memories and stories will be shared to honor Edna's life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Edna's name to the Ronald McDonald House.

Edna Jane Miller will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, warm heart, and infectious smile. Her presence illuminated the lives of those around her and her memory will continue to touch hearts for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
