Edna Laura Hancock

Edna Laura Hancock, 85, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Rosegate Village.

She was born Monday, June 28, 1937, to Theodore RC and Dorothy Minda (McCreary) Monroe. Edna was predeceased by her parents; her husband Russell of 22 years; four brothers, Theodore, Jesse, Clarence, and Robert; three sisters, Betty, Elsie and Memeral Ann; and her stepson, Steve.

She is survived by her four children, Reva (Bryan) Turner, Tony (Debbie) Swegman, Theresa McKinney (Sidney), Charlotte (Chris) Chappell; Her stepchildren, Linda (Dale) Campbell, Russell Jr. (Noel) Hancock, Carol Remine (Donsey); 19 Grandchildren, 43 Great-Grandchildren and 21 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Edna retired from ISI, where she worked on an assembly line. She Loved to gamble! Whether it be lottery tickets, playing slot machines, BINGO, or a game of cards, she was quiet possibly the luckiest woman around.

Services will be held at Indiana Funeral Care, 2433 E. Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana on Tuesday November 29th. The immediate family is welcomed from 2:30-3:00, with a viewing from 3-6 and service at 6pm for friends and family. Meet at New Crown Cemetery at 10:00 am sharp, Wednesday November 30th for the Graveside service.
