Edna Blevins Finagin, 98, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024. Burial will be at a later date in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
Edna Clarice (Blevins) Finagin was born August 17,1926 in Green Cove, Virginia to Rosa Blevins (Lewis) and Elmer C. Blevins. She graduated from Oak Hill Academy in 1944. Moving to Washington, DC after graduation, she held several bookkeeping jobs, also serving as assistant manager at the Officers Club at the Navy Yard. In August 1947 she married Chester Finagin, her beloved husband for 74 years. They were blessed with two daughters. They enjoyed traveling, having visited over 50 countries and all 50 states. They especially enjoyed Hawaii each winter for nearly 30 years.
Always an active member in her church, she held many positions from child care to receptionist. A dedicated Christian, she is now residing in her heavenly home.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Burns (Jim) and Diane Love (David), five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. A strong supporter of family, she was known as the mischievous one. As she grew older, the word most used to describe her was “Feisty”. Opinionated, stubborn and feisty, yet fun-loving, Edna left this world to be with her Savior Jesus Christ, for eternity.
