Edmund McKinley, 77, of Indianapolis passed away on January 10, 2021. Ed was born on November 9, 1943 in Indianapolis before moving to Holly, Michigan where he grew up.
Ed attended Michigan State University graduating with a doctorate of veterinary medicine. After college, Ed worked at a mixed animal clinic before enlisting in the Army. Ed finished his military career as a Lieutenant Colonel, having served in Vietnam where worked with the military dogs. During his time in the military, Ed lived in Germany for several years where he was able to travel extensively. After leaving the military, Ed received his doctorate in veterinary pathology from Purdue University. He worked at Eli Lily before working at the Kord Diagnostic Lab in Tennessee. Ed retired as the Director of the Kord Lab. Under his direction the Kord lab secured its accreditation.
After retiring he enjoyed learning new things and became a Master Gardener and member of the local science club.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Wessyl and Madalyn McKinley; He is survived by his three children, Daniel, John and Anne.
