Edith M. Hicks

Edith M. (Ogden) Hicks, 92, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at home with family by her side.

She was born on Monday, August 18, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Claude and Rosabelle (Chastine) Ogden. Edith married the love of her life, Elmer Hicks at the age of 16 and gave birth to 11 children. They spent 43 years together. Her children always came first.

Edith worked in various factory jobs on the assembly line. She retired at the age of 62 from Lane Bryant. She went back to work cleaning offices and retired a second time at the age of 85.

Edith is survived by 9 children, 34 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hicks; her parents, and 2 children.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 19, 2023, 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel. There will be a second visitation on Thursday, April 20, 2023, 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.

Funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm.

Burial to follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
