Douglas Charles Smith

Douglas Charles Smith was born to the late Don and Jewel Smith on  July 28th, 1951. Has gone to be with Jesus on May 9th, 2022, from a long battle with Huntington's Disease. He is survived by his wife T. Ernestine (Chapman) Smith of 48 years. He had three children Angela (Jeremy) Dunn. Brent (Amie) Smith and Candice Smith. He has five grandchildren.
He graduated from Carmel High School in 1969. He received his BS in Mechanical/Electrical engineering from Purdue University @ IUPUI in 1973. He also received his MBA from Butler University in 1981.
He worked as an engineer for FMC, Delco GM/Delphi and Club Car. While working for GM he was promoted to a supervisor role and assisted Hughes Electronics in Malaga, Spain. He would later receive a patent from the United States patent office for helping development the airbag circuit board. 
He was an avid sports fan and loved to travel. His travels included five continents.
He also enjoyed boating and going to the beach.
He was a member of White River Christian Church in Noblesville.
