Douglas Jay McCord

Douglas McCord passed from this world to be with the Lord. A lifelong resident of Anderson, Doug spent his career as a dispatcher for Edgewood Police department, and later dispatching for Madison County Sheriff's department.

A Graduate of Anderson High School with the class of 1977, he later went to Vincennes College to receive training for his career.

Gifted with a sense of humor, and a quick wit, he always could make you smile. He loved watching sports, especially IU. He loved music and his favorite was the "blues".

Left to keep his memory are his mother, Anna McCord, twin brother Dennis McCord (Tammy), sister and caregiver, Kathy Reed, brother Charles McCord, and sister Stephanie Johnson (Sam), as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death were his father Robert McCord, and sister-in-law, Joyce McCord.

The family wishes to thank Carl Benefiel (Pat), and Darlene Coverdale for the love and care they provided for Doug. They would also like to thank Paradigm Health for their professional care and kindness.

There will be no funeral service per Doug's wishes.

Cremation is entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
