Doris Marie Carter was born June 8, 1927 in Dayton, OH to Everett Tyler Sr. and Clementa Tyler. She was the oldest of five siblings – four brothers and one sister.
Doris met the love of her life, Lee Carter, and they were married on August 19, 1950. To their union, they added three children, JoAnn, John & Phyllis. They remained happily married for 43 years until his death in 1993.
Doris was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968 at the Glendale Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Indianapolis, Indiana. She loved sharing with others what she learned about Jehovah God and Bible truths.
Doris was well known for her feisty personality. There was never a dull moment while in her presence! She loved sewing, gardening, cross-stitch and collecting unique salt and pepper shakers. She will be remembered most for her infectious laugh and her innate ability to bring a smile to the faces of those around her.
Doris Marie Carter fell asleep in death on March 10, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Carter; mother, Clementa Tyler; father, Everett Tyler Sr. and siblings, Everett Tyler Jr. and Hubert Tyler Sr.(Maggie).
She leaves to cherish her beloved memory three siblings,
Gerald Tyler (Donna), David Herring, Donna Reddix (James); children, JoAnn Carter, John Carter (Glenda), Phyllis Sanders (Gerry), grandchildren, Ayana Carter, Aunya Jett (James);
Jeffery Eugene Carter Sr. great-grandchildren, Devin Jett,
Amaya Jett, Jeffery Eugene Carter Jr. as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
