Doris Jean (Mason) Baker, 96, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Greenfield, Indiana.
Doris was born on Easter Sunday, April 17, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Joseph and Myrtle (Branstretter) Mason. She graduated from New Castle High School, class of 1945.
Doris was a seamstress for numerous bridal shops and dance studios over the years. She was also a Tupperware lady in the 1960’s selling this now iconic kitchenware. She also served on the Board of Directors, Ransburg YMCA in the 1960’s.
She and Ernie loved to camp and traveled throughout the United States seeing and visiting the sites and friends. Doris loved attending her grandson’s sporting events and was their biggest fan.
Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Baker; parents, Joseph, and Myrtle Mason; brothers, Bert, Bill, George, Jim, John, and Wayne Mason; sisters, Velma Rorrick, Mildred Pope, and Bernice Stonerock.
She is survived by her children, Linda Carpenter, Barry Baker and his wife Brenda, Vickie Trout and her husband Steve; grandsons, Joseph Evans, Jason Evans, Matthew Trout, Shawn Baker, Christopher Trout, and Brian Baker; great grandchildren, Adilyn Baker, Brooklyne Evans, Cooper Trout, Carsyn Baker, Mason Trout, Hannah Trout, Kaliann Trout, BrinLee Baker, and Jaxon Baker.
Visitation is Saturday, November 25, 2023, 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.
Funeral service will begin at noon. Burial to immediately follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
