Donald Owens

Donald Owens, age 91, passed away on October 25, 2024 at the home of his daughter. Prior to that he was cared for lovingly by the staff of 5 Star Residence in Noblesville.

Donald was born December 21,1932 in Pendleton, IN to Orville and Ima Owens .He was raised by his Mother and maternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Fisher. Donald met and married Geraldine Moore of (Des Moines, Iowa) on July 6, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas . She was a fellow Air Force service woman.

He was preceded in death by Geraldine Owens (Spouse) on June 8th of this year, Orville (Father), Ima Fisher (Mother), Roger and Shirley Owens(brother and sister-n-law) of Anderson , Beverly (Sue) and Paul (Mac) Bradford (sister and brother-n-law) of Indianapolis, and sister Mary Gibbons of Arizona, brother and sister in law, Roy and Phyllis Moore, and two nieces Lisa Easterling and Cheryl Lackey.

 He spent his growing years in Pendleton, Indiana. He was raised by his mother, Ima E Fisher. Our Dad fondly remembered his maternal Grandfather Elmer Fisher being the strong father figure in his life growing up. After high school he worked in a start up company in the new field of computers, transitioning to the Air Force in the early 50’s. After the Air Force, Dad worked the rest of his career at Guide Lamp in Anderson, Indiana. He worked as computer programmer. My parents whom were both in the air force met and married at Kelly Air Force Base and upon discharge from the Air Force they moved back to Pendleton Indiana. Our parents moved to Anderson in the 50’s raised a family and retired there. They later moved to Plainfield then to Noblesville to be closer to their daughter.

They are remembered by their three children; Tom Owens (Stephanie), Tim Owens (Jan), Nancy Middleton (Ray). Also, grandchildren Nick Todd (Suzy Hopkins-Box), Matt Todd (Liz ) of Texas, Katherine Owens of Indianapolis, David Owens (Gabby) Of Tennessee, Deacon Owens, Rena Owens of Missouri and 7 great grandchildren. Also Larry and Judy Lancaster (brother and sister n law in Iowa), Sister in law Doris Parsons of Iowa, many nieces and nephews in Indiana, Iowa, Florida and Arizona.
