Donald E. Hendrickson, Ed.D. – Yorktown, IN
Donald E. Hendrickson, 80, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 after a long battle with dementia.
Don was born January 27, 1941 to Howard & Ethel (Whitmire) Hendrickson, in Muncie, IN.
Don graduated from Central High School in 1959. Don completed his undergraduate in Psychology at Huntington College in Huntington, IN. He received his doctoral degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. After receiving his doctorate, he returned to Muncie as a professor of Psychology at Ball State University. Don also was the co-founder of Crisis Intervention Center of Delaware County, Bethel Home for Boys, Inc. and Cambridge House, Inc. Don had his own private practice for many years.
Some other entrepreneurial endeavors included: Video Stop, Cash Cow, Instant Cash, Pizza King (Carmel & Chesterfield), Inner-Reflections Hair Salons, River Valley Ostrich Ranch and Exotic Animal Farm, Wawaka Antique Flea Market, Hypnosis & Stop Smoking Clinic, and a Discount Mattress Store. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Karen (Mull) Hendrickson ; Children, Jennifer (Randy) Masters, Michael (Tammy) Hendrickson, Christopher “Sean” (Kristina) Hendrickson; Grandchildren, Desiree (Steve) Sirk, Bryce (Jessica) Masters, Brendan, Jordan, Brodrick, Caleb & Cole Hendrickson; Greatgrandchildren, Trevor, Megan, Sara, Mark, Destinee, Isabella & Rhett; Niece, Carole (Andy) Humphrey; and nephew, Bobby (Linda) Robinson
Donald was preceded in death by his son Jonathon “Todd” Hendrickson, and nephew Mike Bradburn of California.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Association.
