It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Dolph, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on March 18, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on August 17, 1954, in Indianapolis, IN, Donald spent his life in Greenwood, where he built a reputation as a dedicated mechanic and a cherished member of the community.
Donald, affectionately known as "Don," was a loving and compassionate husband to his beloved wife, Rhonda. He is also survived by his son, Robbie Dolph, and bonus children Garry Snyder, Brenda Hogan, Ashley Montgomery, and Josh Montgomery. His legacy extends to four cherished grandchildren, eight bonus grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will carry on his spirit. Don is also survived by his loving siblings, Janice Hale Norman and Margie K. Coy Arthur, and three furry companions-Charlie, Bernie, and Max the cat.
Preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Lauretta Dolph, along with several loved ones including Loretta Shell and Gerald "Jerry" Crites, Donald leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed by many.
Don was a man of unwavering faith, serving as a deacon at Woodside Community Church, where his love for the Lord shone brightly. His 35-year career at Allied Equipment was marked by dedication and a steadfast work ethic. Known for his stubborn yet gentle spirit, he went the extra mile for anyone in need, whether that was lending a hand with car repairs or simply offering a listening ear. He had a passion for life, which included fishing, cars, and spending vacations in Gatlinburg and Shipshewana. His commitment to helping others was evident in his years volunteering with the Gospel Tent at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.
Donald's kindness, infectious laugh, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A public viewing will take place at Woodside Community Church on March 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Don's life will commence at 2:00 PM. Following the service, all are welcome to join us for a graveside service at East Hill Cemetery at 3:00 PM.
May his soul rest in peace, and may we all carry forward the love, compassion, and sense of community that Donald so generously shared.
