The family of Donald Slider of Noblesville is saddened to announce his passing on July 22 at the age of 81 years after a 6 year battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home. He will be remembered by many for his easy-going personality and friendly smile.
Don aka “Poppy” was born on October 24, 1938 in Lansing, MI. He earned an engineering degree at Michigan State University and had a successful career with RCA/Thomson for 35 years as a Quality Assurance Engineer and retired several years ago. He loved country music, John Wayne and western movies, Clive Cussler books, flea markets, collecting vintage toys and knives. Don was an avid MSU and Colts fan and enjoyed watching the games. He enjoyed spending time with his family and weekly bingo games.
Don will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Slider, daughter Cheri Slider, granddaughter Jennifer Williams, three great grandchildren: Gavin, Kenzey and Finnleigh, brother Bob Slider and two fur kids Jerry and Lily whom he loved to spoil. Don was predeceased by his parents: Harry and Elnora Slider from Lansing, MI.
A private family celebration of life will be held in August. Please feel free to share condolences or fond memories on this site.
