A child of God, Diane Kobylinski (62 years young) was promoted into heaven on January 11, 2021 in Indianapolis IN, after a sudden and unexpected illness. She had accepted Jesus Christ in her heart as our Lord and Savior and was a born again Christian and her faith and legacy will live on through her family. Diane was born as Diane Marie Janiw, on August 16th 1958 in her beloved hometown of Hamtramck, Michigan where she grew up, to parents Rozalia Janiw and Bohdan Janiw. She was proud of her Polish and Ukrainian roots, but also made sure to routinely show her pride in her Michigan roots after moving for work to Indiana in 2001 (where she lived nearly continuously until her passing). It was not uncommon for her to wear her Detroit Red Wings jersey to work on “casual” days. Diane spent her career in a variety of customer service and office management roles. She was well known for her masterful organizational skills and her ability to charm disgruntled customers with her conversational skills and business savvy. Diane was famed among her friends for her love of music, her knowledge of music, and her dancing ability. Her tastes ran all the way from Rush, and Tom Petty… to the blues and all its many touring artists. She loved to chat up the bands in small venues, such as at Indianapolis’ “Slippery Noodle Inn” blues club and get photos with the likes of Walter Trout, Tommy Castro and others. Always supportive of local musicians, whether aspiring or already successful, Diane put her organizational skills, business acumen, and her love of music together in 2004 as co-producer of “GreenWoodstock”, the first outdoor rock festival held in her adopted hometown of Greenwood, Indiana. The success of that “first” paved the way for today’s many live concert series taking place in the area each summer. In recent years, Diane and her beloved rescue dog, Monti, got involved with the Central Indiana Council on Aging (CICOA) and paid regular visits to the elderly homebound to assist them and to lift their spirits with love and friendship. This confident and capable woman, described by those who loved her as beautiful, strong, smart and fun, is survived by her two daughters Jennifer Rose Kobylinski and Lisa Marie Raleigh, their father Leonard Kobylinski, and her two grandsons, Brendan John Raleigh and Mason Sterling Raleigh. Diane will be in our hearts, prayers thoughts and memories, forever and always. Cremation services were performed by Indiana Funeral Care. A celebration of life will be held August 16, 2022 in Indianapolis.
