Diane G. Emrich

Diane Gloria Miller Emrich, born November 22, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Nathan Miller and Gertrude Schwab Miller, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 20, 2025.

Diane married George Emrich, Jr. on October 28, 1967, in Elgin, IL. They were married for 57 years. They lived briefly in Algonquin, IL, Evansville, IN and Princeton, IN, before settling down in Marion, IN where they would go to have their careers and raise their family. She is survived by her husband, George; and their two children, Michelle Emrich Kendall and Nathaniel (Autumn Roberts) Emrich; grandchildren, Adam and Emma Kendall; and great-grandson, Myles Kendall.

Diane grew up in Brooklyn, NY until her family moved to Cincinnati, OH, where she attended high school. She went on to attend the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a degree in Business Education, class of 1966. She later attended Indiana Wesleyan University, where she graduated in 1987 with an AAS in Accounting.

Diane was a Branch Claims Representative at Auto Owner’s Insurance Company in Sweetser, IN, where she retired after 17 years. Diane and her husband (also retired at the time) then moved to Noblesville, where she went on to work for H&R Block for another 8 years, as well as partnering with AARP to provide tax assistance at the Noblesville Library for 10 years. In her earlier years, she had worked for American States Company in Evansville and Allstate Insurance in Illinois.

Diane was known for her talents in the arts of quilting, sewing, knitting and baking. There are many friends and family members who were lucky recipients of the fruits of her “labors”. Her children enjoyed teasing her for having quilting, knitting and sewing machines that were worth more than their cars. Diane also devoted much of her time being of service to Christ Lutheran Church, where her and George are beloved members. Diane was an active participant in the local, district and zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Diane will be missed for her witty and quick sense of humor; her compassion towards others; her strength and bravery during adversity; and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by parents, Nathan and Gertrude Miller; and her brother, Melvin Miller.
