Dennis L (Denny) Pratt, 83 Orestes, passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at St Vincent Mercy Hospital, Elwood. Born on April 25, 1938, he was the second of eight children born to Ralph and Margaret (Bohlander) Pratt. Denny was a 1958 graduate of Alexandria High School. He liked to farm and worked for his uncles for several years. After graduation he took a job with L.C. Products of Elwood then hired on at RCA in Marion. He had worked there for 3 years when Uncle Sam called him to serve in the Army for 2 years. After being discharged he went back to RCA and then on to Chrysler Corp. in Kokomo, retiring in 1996 after 32 years. On July 1, 1960 he married his sweetheart Lynda Neff, they shared 61 years together. Denny loved his family very much, there were always enough hugs and kisses to go around. He proudly served his community for many years as a volunteer fireman and several other positions in Orestes. Denny enjoyed spending time in the garage working on small engines. He was a lifelong Lutheran and a 40 year member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Tipton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynda, sons, Kurt (Melissa) of Indianapolis, Brent (Julie) of Kokomo and Bart of Alexandria. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, sisters Judith (Larry) Spooner of Tipton, June Hannah of Alexandria, Brothers, Phillip (Linda) of Alexandria, Russell (Sarah) of Kempton, and Mark (Kimberly) of Alexandria, Sister in law, Virginia Myrick of Alexandria, 9 Nephews and 5 Nieces. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, son Christopher, sister Jeneanne and brother David.
A funeral service celebrating Denny’s life will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday August 4, 2021 with Reverend Dr Robb Roloff officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are being entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care and Owens Memorial Services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested for Emanuel Lutheran Church Organ Fund, Emanuel Food Pantry or Rev. Ferry’s ministry.
