Denise Cheryl Young

Denise Cheryl Young peacefully passed away on December 30, 2023 at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana. Denise was born on December 22, 1954 in Indianapolis to Prentice E and Marvette A Butler.

She attended Indianapolis Baptist Temple High School where she graduated in 1973.

In Denise’s younger days, not only was she a hard-working mother and a loyal friend, she also loved taking care of her grandchildren. Denise was known for her selflessness, her love for watching football, her shy smile, and people watching. She was stubborn, but very strong-minded. She also had an undeniable love for her family and friends.

She was a proud member of the Independent Adult Day Center where she developed many friendships. She loved them like family.

Denise was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Butler; and survived by her parents, Wilbur and Marvette Carroll; her children, Nicolle Denise McNeely and Norman McNeely, Jr.; her grandchildren, Sydnee McNeely, Keivon Larsuel, and Bryan McNeely; great grandchild, Karter Larsuel; her sister, Sharlene Carson; nieces. nephews, and many friends.

Visitation is Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Greenwood Chapel.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
