Denise Rene White was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 5, 1952 to Helen White-Young and Ernest White. She passed peacefully after a two-year battle with lung cancer on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Denise spent some of her formative years in Three Rivers, Michigan before returning to Chicago, where she attended Bowan High School. Upon graduation she attended Olive-Harvey Community College, where she obtained her associate degree in Liberal Arts. She then moved to East Lansing, Michigan to further her education at Michigan State University.
Denise began her career in administration support while in Michigan, but eventually made her way back to Chicago after spending a few years in Gary, Indianapolis, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, working in various fields from retail to security. Throughout the years Denise gained a reputation for being super helpful and generous. She could never say NO! Some of her hobbies included reading, completing crossword puzzles, and counted cross stitch. Although she was not a member, Denise did attend Maranatha Church of God In Christ on a number of occasions with her mother.
Denise is preceded in death by her parents Ernest White and Helen White-Young (Peter J. Young Sr.) and her nephew Ernest EJ White.
She is survived by her daughter Cristian White; two brothers, Ernest “Mustafa” White and Peter J. Young Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends.
