Deborah Kay Moore (Bowman), 66, of Marion, Indiana, left us to be with our Lord on the evening of Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born January 2nd, 1954 to Iveory J. Bowman and Lynn B. Smith, in Marion, Indiana and was beloved by all who came to know her.
Deborah grew up in the small city of Marion where she attended Marion High School. She was a very social and active child and teen, allowing her to develop many strong bonds of friendship which would lead to the abundance of love in her life. Upon graduation, she
moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she attended college earning her associates degree in computer programming. She had a very successful career in insurance, working for Golden Rule for several years.
Deborah, being the caring and selfless person she was, also had a long and successful career as a private caregiver, offering her caring and nurturing ways to numerous fortunate people. Everywhere Deborah lived, she knew not a stranger. The kids of her neighborhoods called her “mom,” “nana,” or “auntie.” Or simply out of respect for who she was “Miss Deborah.” To her family and lifelong friends, she was simply Debbie. However, to all, she was a woman
who would love hard, give freely of herself, and sacrifice so much to see those she cared about wear a smile.
She is survived by her father Iveory Bowman (Sonia); daughters, Tamara Mitchell, and Felicia Groce (Stephen); son Philippe Moore; granddaughters, Jasmine, Amiyah, Kaleah, & Zariya; sisters, Linda Clemons (Keith), and Valerie Loper; brother, Jimmy Bowman (Becky); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Lynn Smith.
Deborah was a faith filled Christian woman, and so while it is with sadness in our hearts we gather, we can rejoice within our souls, knowing that she is finally resting and rejoicing with our Heavenly Father.
The visitation will be from 11 AM until Noon on Monday, October, 26th, 2020 at Trinity Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Marion, Indiana. The funeral service will immediately follow at noon. Deborah’s wish was to be cremated.
