David Glenn Schoenenberger peacefully passed on January 21, 2025 at home surrounded by loving family and friends.
Born in Madison, WI on January 17, 1965, David and his parents moved from Madison to Moline, IL. The family then lived in Peoria, IL, Boardman, OH, and finally moved to Carmel, IN in 1980. David graduated from Carmel High School in 1983 and Ball State University in 1987. David (known as "Stork") graduated college with a degree in business management, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity where he was chapter secretary and made lifelong friendships.
Soon after graduating, David became a pharmaceutical sales rep. He then married Nanci J. Jontz whom he met in college. They had two children, Rebecca and Thomas, and lived in Fishers, IN. He later owned his own Farmers Insurance agency and was involved in Rainmakers Christian Leaders. He also ushered and taught Sunday school, volunteered at the Humane Society and supported the veteran organization Tunnels 2 Towers.
Visiting the Caribbean for scuba diving, ocean fishing and many other island activities was David's greatest passion. He also loved hunting and fishing in Canada with his father Glenn, and fishing in northern Michigan and Florida with his father-in-law, Dr. Joe Jontz. He loved music, cooking and outdoor landscaping. He was deeply caring, had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and have fun, and was a friend to everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his mother Nancy Kelley Schoenenberger (Carmel, IN), his sister Julie Schoenenberger Carr (Newport Beach, CA), his ex-wife Nanci Jontz (Fishers, IN), his two children Rebecca Schoenenberger (age 29 of Carmel, IN) and Thomas Schoenenberger (age 25 of Lakewood, CO), uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews in Wisconsin, Florida and California, his best friend and chosen "brother" Donny Lyon who was always by his side, and his beloved dog Remy. He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn A. Schoenenberger (who passed December 20, 2020).
