David McDaniel

David McDaniel, of Greenwood, IN passed away April 18, 2023 at Community South ER. He was the 13th child born to the late Dailey and Lula (Everage) McDaniel on January 23, 1944 in Indianapolis, IN. Dave attended Lawrence Central High School.

Dave met his love, Patricia (Bentley) McDaniel and got married at Castleton Methodist Church and together they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 28, 2023.

After working on the farms and a nursery as a teenager, Dave went to work for his father-in-law driving a fuel oil truck. He then became a Teamster out of Local 135, working for Anderson Motor Service. Upon it's closing he worked for ANR/Advance Transportation from where he retired in 1999. After retiring his health decline but he stayed positive and said he wasn't going to go.

Dave was on the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department and upon moving to Greenwood 53 years ago he joined the White River Twp. Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a Fire Investigator. During this time he attended many classes and obtained many certificates.

Dave is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Renee (Michael) Myers of Beech Grove, IN; son, Randall (Rebecca) McDaniel of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Andrew (Chelsea) Gillium, Christopher Evans, Abigail (Cainon) Myers, Scott (Nicole) Myers, Paul Myers, Cory Myers, Amanda (Eric) Ford, Zachary (Charli) McDaniel, Heather (Cody) McDaniel, Stephanie McDaniel, Mitchell (Crystal) McDaniel, Ryndi Manners, Ryanne Gluff; sister, Linda Gamble; brother, Bruce McDaniel; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and eight sister.
