David Lynn Ray, 67 of Avon, Indiana, passed away February 10, 2022. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Fred and Dorothy Ray on October 25, 1954. David married the love of his life Kathy on February 14, 1985.
As long as we remember a person, they are never really gone, and David Ray made memories! If you asked David what his biggest accomplishments were or of what he was most proud, he would say his family. Being a father, grandfather (papaw) and great grandfather meant everything to him, and he sure loved those grandbabies! He enjoyed playing Santa and seeing the smiles on the little one’s faces. He was always laughing and had a big smile for everyone. He fully enjoyed life and making others laugh. David was also an avid Indy Car fan especially the Indy 500. He loved playing cards with the family, listening to music, bass fishing, and a cold Miller Lite! A spontaneous life, fully lived describes this wonderful, amazing man, loved by all.
David is survived by his wife, Kathy Ray of 37 years, children Gary (Kara) Shircliff, Jeromy (Michelle) Shircliff, Michelle (Andrew) Ray-Korte, Kari (Scott) Gibson, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Sandy Ray and Debbie (Mark) Wall. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Mark Ray and Darrell Ray.
