David Lawrence Taylor, 73, of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Rosegate Village in Indianapolis.
He was born Friday, October 10, 1947, to the late Homer Lawrence and Dorotha (Storms) Taylor in Columbus, Indiana.
David went to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he found a passion for the theater while working as a theater tech, building sets, and setting up for performances. It was here that his knowledge was awakened for the performing arts and opera.
He was a Carpenter Contractor for many years and in drafting and Auto Cad as well. He loved working with his hands and was good at it.
Over the years, starting when he was young David became obsessed with trains, many different makes and models. He was a collector and owned quite the collection. He even subscribed to Train magazine.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Ellen Meenan-Taylor; children, Dr. Adrienne Marie Taylor and fiancé Hector Lopez of Indianapolis, IN, Charles James Taylor, and wife Melissa Sweeney of Cincinnati, OH; and sister, Blanche (Taylor) Johnson and husband Bob of Dallas, TX.
David was a loving husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed.
