David Davis

David Davis, a dedicated Fire Chief for Brown Township Fire Department in Mooresville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, in Danville, Indiana after an eight-month battle with cancer. He was born on December 13, 1957, in Beech Grove, Indiana to Richard and Patricia Davis.

David devoted 32 years of his life to serving his community as a firefighter before retiring in 2013. His career was marked by his unwavering passion to ensuring the safety and well-being of those he served. 

David volunteered and chaired many organizations during his lifetime, including chairing the Mooresville Relay for Life, being a board member of the Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation, and coaching the high school baseball team. He also enjoyed 12 years assisting the Komets Soccer Club as the club President. 

David is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Beth Kouns; his daughter Tara (Logan) Allen; his stepdaughter, Stephanie Kouns; his granddaughter Emry Allen; as well as mother Patricia Davis, brother Randy (Kay) Davis, sister Heather Hughet, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Davis.

In both his professional and personal life, David touched the hearts of many with his kindness, dedication, and passion for helping others. His legacy of service and compassion will forever be remembered by all those whose lives he impacted.

Per Davids request, he will be cremated at Indiana Funeral Care. His family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. 

David Davis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the community he served so diligently. May he rest in peace.
